Title: 8/8 – 2010 Fall Golf Training – Holding the Wrist Cock
Description: 2011 02 26 Lesson at Etobicoke Golf Town. Wrist Cock.

So recently I’ve gotten a lot more distance by applying the soft wrist, but I was losing a little bit of control. From fades to hooks sometimes. Luckily with video technology I was able to see that I am too loose on my grip and arms. Doug actually told me to try to wrist cock earlier, and hold that 90 degree wrist cock all the way. Although I was building distance without control in the past with the looseness of the swing, I was losing width of my swing but compensating with the whip action. Therefore, he told me to picture my right arm (not the leading one), to almost try to push outwards during the swing to keep my left arm ever extended. I’ve been practicing the last few days, and hit a couple games in the simulators with it. I must admit, I have to keep this up. I’ve seen a lot more consistent shots (straighter), and I think this will help me prepare for my season-opener of the GTA Amateur Tour @ Myrtle Beach, SC, USA.

Anyhow, enjoy this video, and I hope it helps you. I will most likely continue lessons later on, but I’ll still keep everyone posted on my results.
